The Day of Judgement (Arabic: Yawm al-Qiyamah, also called Yawm ad-Din) is a core belief in Islam. It is the final day when Allah will resurrect all human beings from their graves and judge them for their deeds in this worldly life.
What Happens on That Day?
1. Resurrection – All people, from Adam to the last human, will be brought back to life.
2. Accountability – Everyone will be held accountable for their beliefs, words, and actions.
3. Record of Deeds – Each person will receive their Book of Deeds:
(a) Right hand = Jannah (Paradise)
(b) Left hand = Jahannam (Hell)
4. Scales of Justice – Deeds will be weighed. Even a small good deed can tip the scale.
5. Bridge over Hell (As-Sirāt) – The righteous will cross safely; the sinful may fall.
Why is it Important?
(a) It reminds Muslims to live a righteous, honest, and humble life.
(b) It proves that this world is temporary, and the real life is in the Hereafter.
(c) It assures that ultimate justice will be served by Allah – no injustice will go unnoticed.
