Meaning: The Iron | Has 29 Verses | Revealed In: Medina (Madani Surah)
1. سَبَّحَ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
Whatever is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Allah, and He is the Almighty, the All-Wise.
2. لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَاتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ يُحْيِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۖ
To Him belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He gives life and causes death.
3. هُوَ ٱلْأَوَّلُ وَٱلْآخِرُ وَٱلظَّـٰهِرُ وَٱلْبَاطِنُ ۖ
He is the First and the Last, the Most High and the Most Near.
4. هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَاتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ
He is the One Who created the heavens and the earth in six days.
5. لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَاتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ ٱلْأُمُورُ
To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And all matters return to Allah.
6. يُولِجُ ٱلَّيْلَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ ۚ
He merges the night into the day and the day into the night.
7. ءَامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَأَنفِقُوا۟ مِمَّا جَعَلَكُم مُّسْتَخْلَفِينَ فِيهِ ۖ
Believe in Allah and His Messenger, and spend (in charity) from what He has made you trustees of.
8. وَمَا لَكُمْ لَا تُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ
Why should you not believe in Allah?
9. هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُنَزِّلُ عَلَىٰ عَبْدِهِۦۤ ءَايَـٰتٍۢ بَيِّنَـٰتٍۢ
He is the One Who sends down clear revelations upon His servant.
10. وَمَا لَكُمْ أَلَّا تُنفِقُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ
And why should you not spend in the cause of Allah?
11. مَّن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يُقْرِضُ ٱللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًۭا
Who is it that will lend Allah a good loan?
12. يَوْمَ تَرَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ يَسْعَىٰ نُورُهُم
On the Day you will see the believing men and women with their light shining ahead of them.
13. يَوْمَ يَقُولُ ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقُونَ وَٱلْمُنَـٰفِقَـٰتُ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟
On that Day, the hypocrites—men and women—will say to the believers...
14. يُنَـٰدُونَهُمْ أَلَمْ نَكُن مَّعَكُمْ
They will cry out to them, “Were we not with you?”
15. فَٱلْيَوْمَ لَا يُؤْخَذُ مِنكُمْ فِدْيَةٌۭ
So today no ransom will be accepted from you or from the disbelievers.
16. أَلَمْ يَأْنِ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَن تَخْشَعَ قُلُوبُهُمْ لِذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ
Has the time not come for the hearts of those who believe to be humbled by Allah's reminder?
17. ٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحْىِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا ۚ
Know that Allah gives life to the earth after its death.
18. إِنَّ ٱلْمُصَّدِّقِينَ وَٱلْمُصَّدِّقَـٰتِ وَأَقْرَضُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًۭا
Surely, the men and women who give charity and lend Allah a good loan...
19. وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦٓ
And those who believe in Allah and His messengers...
20. ٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَا ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا لَعِبٌۭ وَلَهْوٌۭ
Know that this worldly life is no more than play, amusement...
21. سَابِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٍۢ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ
Race towards forgiveness from your Lord.
22. مَآ أَصَابَ مِن مُّصِيبَةٍۢ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِىٓ أَنفُسِكُمْ
No disaster strikes on earth or within yourselves except that it is written in a Record.
23. لِكَيْلَا تَأْسَوْا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَاتَكُمْ
So that you may not grieve over what you miss.
24. ٱلَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ وَيَأْمُرُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ بِٱلْبُخْلِ ۗ
Those who are stingy and encourage others to be stingy...
25. لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ
We certainly sent Our messengers with clear proofs...
26. وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًۭا وَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ
And We indeed sent Noah and Abraham...
27. ثُمَّ قَفَّيْنَا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِهِم بِرُسُلِنَا
Then We sent Our messengers in succession...
28. يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَءَامِنُوا۟ بِرَسُولِهِۦ
O believers! Be mindful of Allah and believe in His Messenger...
29. لِئَلَّا يَعْلَمَ أَهْلُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ أَلَّا يَقْدِرُونَ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍۢ
So that the People of the Book may know they have no power over Allah’s grace...
