Imam Bukhari was a renowned Islamic scholar, born on July 21, 810 CE, in Bukhara, Uzbekistan. The renowned scholar's entire name was Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ismail ibn Ibrahim ibn Al-Mughirah ibn Bardizyah Al-Jufri Al-Bukhari, showcasing his notable heritage.

Early Life and Education
a. Imam Bukhari's father, Ismail ibn Ibrahim, was a scholar and expert in Hadith who studied under famous scholars like Imam Malik ibn Anas.
b. After his father's demise, Imam Bukhari's mother played a pivotal role in nurturing his spiritual growth and dedication, alongside his brother.
c. The pursuit of Hadith knowledge began early for Imam Bukhari, as he started his studies at a tender age in Bukhara.
d. At 16, he had memorized many books of famous scholars, including Abdullah Ibn Al-Mubarak's "Al-Waki".

Journey of Seeking Knowledge
a. At 18, Imam Bukhari travelled to Makkah with his mother and brother, where he spent two years studying Hadith and other religious sciences.
b. He later went to Madinah for four years, furthering his education in Hadith, Fiqh, and Islamic jurisprudence.
Imam Bukhari's academic journeys took him to Basra, Kufa, Baghdad, Egypt, and Syria, where he had the opportunity to study with prominent Hadith experts and scholars.

Notable Traits and Qualities
a. Exceptional Memory: Imam Bukhari had an extraordinary memory, allowing him to memorize and recall vast numbers of Hadiths accurately.
b. Abstinence and Generosity: He spent his wealth in the path of Allah, eventually leaving himself with minimal resources.
c. Humility and Piety: Imam Bukhari was known for his simplicity, politeness, and fear of Allah, always seeking forgiveness for those who wronged him.

Teachers and Students
Imam Bukhari's education was enriched by his association with over 1,080 teachers, comprising distinguished scholars like Ali ibn Al-Madini, Yahya ibn Maeen, and Ishaq Ibn Rahwayh.
His students included famous scholars like Imam Muslim, Abu Isa Mohammad Al-Tirmidhi, and Abu Abd-ur-Raḥman Aḥmad ibn Shuaib Al-Nasai.

Writings and Legacy
Imam Bukhari authored several books, with his magnum opus being "Sahih Al-Bukhari", a collection of authentic Hadiths.
Sahih Al-Bukhari', a testament to Imam Bukhari's scholarly rigor and dedication, took 16 years to compile and includes 7,275 Hadiths, making it one of the most authentic and influential Hadith collections in Islam, after the Holy Quran.

Later Life and Death
Disagreements with Khalid bin Ahmed, the governor, resulted in Imam Bukhari's banishment from Bukhara. He relocated to Khartang, Samarkand, and spent his remaining days there, passing away on September 1, 870 CE, at the age of 62.
