Obligation
The second important obligation on Muslim is Salah. Salah is the second of the five pillars of Islam and is the most emphasized act of worship after the Shahada (declaration of faith)
Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) said “The first matter that the servant will be brought to account for on the Day of Judgment is the prayer. If it is sound, then the rest of his deeds will be sound.” (Sunan an-Nasa’i, Hadith 3991; Sahih)
Punishment
Deliberately neglecting Salah without valid reasons is a major sin.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“Between a man and shirk (polytheism) and kufr (disbelief) is the abandonment of the prayer.” (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 82)
It is said, the line between Emaan and Kufr is Salah.
Reward
Salah helps in Forgiveness of sins and brings closeness to Allah. It helps in acceptance of duas and receive direct help from Allah.
